Description
Jagged Peaks represent some of Minecraft's most extreme mountain terrain, introduced in the 1.18 Caves & Cliffs update. These dramatic spires of stone and snow reach incredible heights, often extending above Y-level 200. The biome features sparse vegetation due to the harsh conditions, with occasional patches of snow grass and powder snow. Goats are the only passive mobs that naturally spawn here, perfectly adapted to the steep terrain. The biome's striking appearance makes it perfect for building mountain bases and castles, though construction can be challenging due to the vertical terrain and extreme heights.
How to Find
Jagged Peaks are found in mountainous regions, usually at Y-level 100 and above. Look for extremely steep, snow-covered mountains with exposed stone and patches of powder snow. They often generate next to Grove biomes and other mountain variations. Pack warm clothes as temperatures are freezing, and watch out for goats that can knock you off cliffs.
