Description

Minecraft's Strongholds are unique and rare generated structures that only appear underground, but can be located using an Eye of Ender. They are famous for being the only place an End Portal can appear, but they can have other rooms too, including Libraries and Storerooms. Where Strongholds appear depends on the version of the game you're playing: in Bedrock Edition, they are random, but are usually found underneath Villages. In the Java Edition, they can appear within one of eight rings that are centered at the world spawn point: there can only be 128 Strongholds total, and beyond 24,320 blocks, they stop appearing.

How to Find

Eye of Enders are crafted using an Ender Pearl and Blaze Powder. Ender Pearls have a 50% chance to be dropped by a defeated Endermen, while Blaze Powder can be crafted from Blaze Rods, which are dropped by Blazes found in The Nether's Nether Fortresses. While holding an Eye of Ender, Use it and it will fly in the direction of the nearest Stronghold. However, it has a 20% chance of shattering after it's used, and thus lost for good. Ergo, it's best to have several Eye of Enders, especially if you intend on activating the End Portal.

Stronghold Loot

Stronghold Chests will have different potential items inside depending on what room they are found in. Enchanted Books – With enchantments like Sharpness, Protection, and Efficiency.- Iron Ingots – Used for crafting tools and armor. - Gold Ingots – Can be used for crafting golden tools, armor, and golden apples. - Diamonds – Valuable for crafting high-tier tools and armor. - Ender Pearls – Useful for teleportation and finding the End Portal. - String – Can be crafted into wool or used for bows and fishing rods.- Torch – Light up your way through dark tunnels.
