Description
Gold ore appears throughout the Overworld and Nether, with unique properties in each dimension. In the Overworld, it generates in veins of up to 13 blocks, with increased frequency in badlands biomes. Nether gold ore is more abundant but yields less raw gold per block. Gold tools and armor have low durability but high enchantability. The metal is crucial for piglin trading and powered rails, making it valuable despite its weakness as equipment material.
How to Find
Gold ore generates between Y-levels 256 and -64, with peak distribution at Y-level 32. Common in badlands biomes at Y-levels 256 to 0. Also abundant in the Nether. Requires iron pickaxe or better. Fortune enchantment increases raw gold drops. Can be obtained from drowned, zombie piglins, or ruins.
